SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The scholarships distributed by Saint Anthony Maronite Church are funded by Saint Anthony Maronite Scholarship Endowed Trust. It will be the decision of the Trustees of the Trust (with advice from the St. Anthony Finance Council) to determine what amount funds are available each year for disbursement.
Saint Anthony Scholarship (4 per year): currently in the amount of $1,500 per year is given on the basis of academic achievement and parish involvement. This scholarship is granted on a yearly basis and can be renewed yearly for three years as long as the student remains in good standing with the Church and meets minimum GPA (2.5%) expectations.
Harry and Margaret Gibrall Shaia Scholarship (1 per year): currently in the amount of $1,500 per year is given on the basis of academic achievement and parish involvement. This scholarship is granted on a yearly basis and can be renewed yearly for three years as long as the student remains in good standing with the Church and meets minimum GPA (2.5%) expectations.
Monsignor George Sebaali Scholarship (1 per year): provide limited funding up to the amount of the average tuition of a Virginia state university after other scholarships and grants, and where financial need is demonstrated. The recipient still must meet the requirements of parish involvement and academic achievement. This scholarship is granted on a yearly basis and can be renewed yearly for three years as long as the student remains in good standing with the Church and meets minimum GPA (2.5%) expectations.
Mary & Philip Gibrall, Sr. Scholarship. This program established in 2022, named to honor George Gibrall’s parents, is being funded through the gift of the George and Brenda Gibrall family through their family Foundation.

The goal of this scholarship program is to provide limited funding up to the amount of the average tuition of a Virginia state university after other scholarships and grants, and where financial need is demonstrated. The recipient still must meet the requirements of academic achievement and parish involvement. This scholarship is granted on a yearly basis and can be renewed yearly for three years as long as the student remains in good standing with the Church and meets minimum GPA (2.5%) expectations. This scholarship program and the amount of the maximum yearly funding will be evaluated and may be modified each year by the Trustees of the Trust and the Gibrall Family Foundation.
Note: If financial need is determined, the Mary and Philip Gibrall Scholarship can also be awarded to the scholarship recipients of other scholarships awarded by Saint Anthony Church.
